A film about existence, on the boundaries between...。讲述的是离婚前回到18年前全盛时期的老公的故事。。佟李氏很早就失去了丈夫，和女儿大香过着相依为命的生活。孤苦伶仃的母女两人进城投奔舅母孙大妈，就此结识了名为尚幼林的男子。善良的尚幼林常常帮助生活困苦的佟李氏，一来二去之间，两人之间渐渐产生了真挚的感情。 贪婪阴险的孙大妈伙同崔胡子和胭脂虎夫妻俩，设计将大香卖到了两人经营的“同香院”中。眼看女儿遭受着非人的待遇，绝望的佟李氏选择了跳河自尽。然而尚幼林却没有放弃希望，想方设法替大香赎身，却最终以失败告终。1949年北平解放，解放军的到来让大香终于重新获得了自由。。
